Dr Vik is a GP and two-time IRONMAN with a passion for sports and exercise medicine.
After studying Medicine at the University of Dundee, Vik spent the early part of his medical career as a specialist in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. These formative years equipped him with the knowledge of ultrasound-guided injections for postoperative pain relief.
His ethos in his practice of sports medicine is to actively engage in rehabilitation through pain relief and targeted treatment. By coupling the use of ultrasound-guided joint injections with a tailored rehabilitation programme, most injuries can be treated in an efficient manner allowing for a speedy return to movement.
Vik is a keen endurance athlete having completed two full-distance IRONMAN triathlons and numerous marathons. It’s this passion that has given him first-hand experience into the challenges athletes face on their road to recovery.
